Hussein Ashkor, a patient suspected of committing sex crimes, last week escaped from the "Sha'ar Menashe" psychiatric hospital, where he was under observation.

Following the inmate's breakout, the management allowed for the maximum security facility situated near Hadera to be filmed for the first time, in an attempt to highlight its stringent security procedures.

Hospital staff explained that Ashkor managed to escape by squeezing through a window he had broken, and then by climbing over the perimeter fence, landing safely on the other side with the aid of a garbage can.
