13,000 Haifa fans show up for Atar's debut as Maccabi's new coach
It was only a Toto Cup preseason game, but 13,000 Maccabi Haifa fans showed up for last night's derby against Hapoel. The reason: it was local legend Reuven Atar's first home game as Maccabi's new coach. Unfortunately, not much soccer followed the standing ovation and, despite being the better team by far, the game ended scoreless. Tonight, Hapoel will play Maccabi in the Tel Aviv derby.
