It was expected, yet still surprising: Maccabi Haifa coach Reuven Atar was fired on Tuesday. In a written statement, club owner Jacob Shahar said: "In a meeting held this afternoon between myself and the coach, Reuven Atar, I informed Reuven I was discontinuing his activity as club coach. This decision was the hardest in my 20 years as [club] owner."
