A senior Lebanese journalist who is close to Hezbollah hinted Monday that the pro-Iranian Lebanese group could attack Israel in response to the IDF offensive in Gaza.

Ibrahim Al-Amin, editor of the Al-Ahbar newspaper, also wrote in an extended article on the events in the Gaza Strip that Hamas would respond with rockets of a new type, capable of striking areas of Israel which were previously out of range.

"More importantly, however, is that the matter may not be limited to a single front, a single location or a single group," the article concluded.

Al-Amin also wrote that Hamas will resume suicide bombings "anywhere that Hamas activists will reach."

On Sunday, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah said that his organization was on alert in south Lebanon, warning that Israel intended to attack Lebanon as well.

But Nasrallah did not threaten that Hezbollah would join the fighting.

In a televised speech, Nasrallah attacked the Arab world, accusing some Arab nations of collaborating with Israel. He urged residents of Arab states to take to the streets to protest the IDF attacks.
