Six-year-old succumbs to wounds sustained in Ma'aleh Adumim fire
Firefighters managed to rescue the two boys, aged 3 and 6 from the burning building, where they were suffering from severe smoke inhalation.
By Jonathan Lis and Haaretz CorrespondentA six year old boy on Thursday died of wounds sustained the day before in a fire that broke out in his family's apartment in Ma'aleh Adumim.
At around 6:30 pm, emergency services received a call reporting an apartment fire in the city. A large contingent of rescue workers arrived on the scene and during their efforts to control the blaze, they discovered Aharon Gonzales, aged 6, and his three-year-old brother Eliezer trapped inside the burning apartment.
Firefighters managed to rescue the two from the fire, and they were rushed to Sha'are Zedek hospital in the city suffering from severe smoke inhalation.
Initial police investigations have determined that the most likely cause of the fire was an electrical problem in the building.
