Six Palestinians killed in accident with IDF jeep
Car swerves off course head-on into IDF armed jeep near Ofra settlement in West Bank.
By Chaim Levinson Haaretz Service Tags: Israel news West Bank IDFSix Palestinians were killed Friday night in a traffic accident with an Israel Defense Forces jeep at the entrance to the Ofra settlement near Ramallah, the army said.
A woman and her four children who were killed were traveling in a Palestinian car in the West Bank, along with another passenger, who was seriously injured and transferred to a Ramallah hospital where he died shortly after admission.
According to Israel Radio, the Palestinian vehicle suddenly swerved off course and crashed head on into the IDF car.
Initial investigation indicates that a tire on the Palestinian car - a Mitsubishi - exploded, which caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The IDF soldiers, who were driving an armed jeep, were slightly injured and transferred to Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.

"Since the dead can`t talk, we go by what the living have to say.." Ben Jabo Just where do you get your logic from anyway? The circus clowns? Dutch
Since the dead can't talk, we go by what the living have to say What did you want, UN Observers stationed in advance on all roads to check for reckless driving? Since you refuse to go, we have to rely on those that were there
Couldn't you go on accusing some muslims(maroccans, palestinians etc) in the Neatherlands instead for beeing on the roads and sometime causing accidents that kill inocent dutch people, or why not accusing some dutch soldiers in Iraq for killing inocent iraquies on the roads or......hipocrite!
If you had actually made the trip that you promised, you might have found out in person However, your lack of backbone seems to have grounded you in the USA, disappointing the Palestinian's that you had promised to help out
The problem is, Ben, there is only the IDF's account of what happened....
Because you think Arab life is worthless? By the way I really wonder what it's like for someone like you to live in the absolute far-left stronghold of the world, Sweden. My greetings and love to all Swedish friends.
About 20 years ago, I was driving through a road construction area where there had recently been blasting and debris from the blast was still on the road. My right front tire blew and I swerved into a truck beside me. Luckily, no one was hurt. The insurance investigators found that a sharp stone had punctured the tire. When a tire blows at any speed, the car swerves in the direction of the blowout and the car is almost impossible to control. From the information in the story, unless and until someone can prove differently, with evidence that can stand up in court, I believe it's a tragic accident. Those who accuse without proof should learn to think before voicing their opinions.
How could we ever have doubted you? You are dead right on this one. The IDF jeep was waiting on the side of the road. They saw a nice juicy target. There goes a Palistinian family of six. So they rammed the car and killed them all. I deeply appologise for taking you lightly. Please let us know what we can do so that this is not repeated. Perhaps we should all disappear. Without Jews your world would be perfect.
Do you always believe the IDF reports in light of no witness account's , either? My what a sucker you are ...Dutch
It's population control.
1. Dutch did not read the article. 2. Dutch was there. 3. Dutch knows someone on the scene. 4. Dutch would have the same response no matter what. It's too bad the palistinian car did not hit another palistinian car. If that happened Dutch would still blame the Jews.
since you refuse to comprehend that the civilian car "suddenly swerved" into the path of the jeep "the Palestinian vehicle suddenly swerved off course and crashed head on into the IDF car"
The families or the Palestinian rights groups should bring charges of vehicular homicide against those Israeli soldiers. They shouldn't get away with this horrible crime against this innocent family. Dutch
As though we are to trust the Zionists' version of events considering past history of lies. More likely scenario was the IOF jeep was speeding and driving recklessly when it plowed into the Palestinian car. Six dead but no investigation right? Take the soldiers words that they were hit by Palestinian car full of children sure!
Same mindset that blamed the Jews for the 'Black Death' with only a slight modernization on what to blame us on. Is every traffic accident not an accident. We had an entire family (5 people) killed in an accident by an Arab driver last week. Sorry but these things happen and not everything can be used to espouse hatred without looking ridiculous.
Apparently it is never the IDF's fault, it is ALWAYS the Palestinians. Even if there were any witnesses who contradict the IDF we all know that their statements would be discounted. After all the IDF is never in the wrong when they kill Palestinians, are they?
They shouldn't have to be in the West Bank, but they were forced to be there You see, constant invasions by hostile Arab forces required that Israel establish defined areas for self protenction In your spare time, after you've finished some of your nonsens, try reading AND understanding about the Arab invasions of 1948, 1967 & 1973 Maybe the light will clear some of the fog from between your ears, though I doubt it As for the West Bank, Israel took control of that after the second Arab invasion in 1967, not wanting to have a repeat invasion at a later date
The IDF is too chicken to use suicide vests (like the Pals) so it uses jeeps to murder innocent Palestinian civilians. How devious. Goldstone should investigate this new crime against humanity before the IDF sends out waves of suicide drivers throughout the world.
They are the ones illegally occupying the Palestinian territories and placing precious Palestinian lives at risk-especially Palestinian child- ren. Damn all the evil they represents today in the territories. It is beyond time that anyone should be excusing it or dismissing this evil either as it promoting ugly state terrorism that must end or Israelis will be forced to leave the Middle East altogether... Dutch
It was an accident get over it.
Terrible tragedy! Sorry.
Israel is amazing beautiful free place but its roads are BAD!!!!
Israel again!
This comment fits right in with all the other comments putting immediate blame on the IDF for puprposely killing this poor family.
I missed that one.
let me explain it to you ,slowly ,so even you you can comprehend: Accidents do happen.Got it ?
.....the usual Israeli tactic is to provoke violence....if all the attention is on violence, much less will be on Israeli intransigence. The timing is very curious. Condolences.
Army was performing it duty, protecting the settlemnt, Arabs had crappy tires on the car, probably retreads since new are rat her expensive You may now return to duty, put your finger in the dike
Just conjecture on your part, as valid as all the comments you tend to make I would be surprised if you actually came up with something that made some sense
The IDF sure do have a good reason to be there. If not for the IDF, there would be terror attacks on an hourly basis. Preventing slaughter of innocent people takes precedence over everything. You know VERY WELL why the Army is there.
Jews cause all traffic accidents?
The first intifada was ignited by a similar incident.....Hope this won't be a repeat
.....seem to be one and the same person. What a stupid way, to spend one's time, and incite reader's opinion, once from the right, and once from the left. just check next time better what you wrote before you press the "send" button.
I hope the IDF had a good reason to be there ...
right there at the entrance to the Ofra settlement near Rammallah. Sounds ever so fishy, great that the Israeli police are "investigating".
I am sure post 3 meant prayers and thoughts to all families of the Israeli and Palesitinian casualties. @4 I hope that crash investigators arriving on scene helped conclude the cause of the accident and not sided with military views at the scene. There are decent Israelis in Israel. As with post 3 though my thoughts are with all victims and their families and hope that nothing political can be extracted from this unfortunate event.
That saves confusion and avoids certain nasty possibilities.
Thoughts and prayers go out to family and loved ones!
