Some of you are really silly, do you actually believe that the number of terrorist attack attempts has diminished? The answer is no, everyday we arrest someone who intends to commit a terrorist act (knife, gun, whatever). The PA? Ha, their members were responsible for the shooting attack not too long ago in which Israelis were killed. Terrorist activity has not diminished, but because of luck and operational activity their success rates are lower.
The number of attempted attacks has not changed much but the number of victims has fallen dramatically. This is entirely thanks to the bravery and professionalism of the IDF in its defensive work of saving innocent lives. Kol ha-Kavod to everyone who has taken part in any way in the defence of Israel. The whole of the people also deserves credit for electing a Knesset majority and government with a more serious attitude to national and personal security. This has also helped to deter the terrorists.
It Gaza's problems are not solved shortly, the explosive pressure could at any time explose in our face, we had nothing but a glimps of it when Gazans overflowed through the Rafah Border. Humans can take so much, but there is a limit of how much they could suffer/boiled up in silence, just like a volcano, sooner or later, there will come the Big Bang and eruptions, will be the end product.
Now that there are less violence from the Palestinians and the the settlers. Peace """is looking at you KID"""
Before every violenec was taken as as a good omen to carry on with the building of more settlements, and Walls/fences, and sometime Home demolitions of arabs population. Now that the PA, have demontrated their ability in stopping violence , with their good Security forces, it is therefore time that we show our appreciations and do everything at our disposal to NEGOCIATE PEACE, with our next door neighbors, the future State of Palestine. SHALOM
Seriously, all you people who read this and claim that it has nothing to do with the security barrier have to stop. I'm going to end up hurting myself rolling on the floor laughing at your comments. From Turkish Dave who hasn't gotten his head around the concept that when the number of attacks gets smaller, it actually means that there is greater efficiency at stopping them to the fake Israeli Tzivi (What kind of name is Tzivi? Tzvi or Zvi is how you'd spell your name if you were authentic) who wants us to believe that Israel is led by fascists, you guys are a riot. Deny it all you want, the security barrier and the IDF's dissuasion work!
I agree somewhat with Palestinian # 11. I feel the fence has helped to reduce the possibility of suicide bombers travelling freely. And I feel that the Pal security forces have also helped. Now is the time to analyze the data and to move another step forward in the easing of tensions and talking about more freedom of movement and believe it or not "peace talks"
The real reason is the coordination between Israel and the Palestinian security forces. It's so naive to think that the wall is the main reason. If there was no security coordination and Hamas or Islamic Jihad decided to resume the suicide attacks, there would be. I think wise people (or not totally silly) think a bit in the potential future threats of their actions instead of the immediate consequences.
The PA has held their side of the bargain in stopping suicide attacks shame us israelis can't do the same and stop the occupation. This government is corrupt and listens to the jewish extremists who want to remove all palestinians from their land.
What happens next is up to the Arabs. So far -as you must know unless you live in a cave- Pal's explicitly stated objective is to destroy Israel. Until they show a real willingness to live and let live, there won't be an opportunity for smart guys like you to find out what Israel's real intentions are.
i think the fence/wall is the reason for that silence. guess you haven't seen it, because you never are in betlehem and those towns - but that 8-meters-high wall is really frightning! (but it obviously necssasary...)
Always interesting and good, but did they also investigate the number of palestinian dead and Israeli attacks? To the credit of Shin Bet they do not jump to wide conlusions like the people in the talkback.
...theres alot more to it. Who considers Cast lead a success because of this is practically saying that 1300 palestinian lives are worth less than 100 (or however many less were killed this year than last) israeli ones. Now dont start talking about anti-semite terrorist supporters again, i am very glad to hear that peoples lives were saved, but the price was far too high. Also, I'm sure that islamists still could kill israelis if they wanted to, but clearly they are less inclined to, they are at least starting to meet israel halfway, what is israel doing? Nothing, still building, still keeping millions of people in a concentration camp-country without essential materials and isolated from the rest of the world, while lying to the world about wanting peace. It is the most digusting hypocrisy.

Enjoy it while it last. May be things are quite now...but the people of Palestine are still under occupation,so I assure you with or without fence Security will mean nothing when the next suicide is near.....
"...The only place where fence really exists is the north. So, is it really because of the fence? Or because nobody is willing to blow us up anymore?.." - Philip While they still often shoot at cars of Jews, they blow themselves up less as they get more westernized and see that they have far more freedom and wealth in the "occupied WB" than the masses in all states surrounding Israel. There are security checks for both Arabs and Jews on both sides of the green line. Anyone who has spent time in the "WB" well knows that the "occupation" has been virtually non-existent for years.
You really think so? Well, I live in Israel, and I drive on road 443, road 60 and others. There is no fence there. There is no fence in the south, the fence in Jerusalem is 70% finished. The only place where fence really exists is the north. So, is it really because of the fence? Or because nobody is willing to blow us up anymore? Make the right conclusions.
So cast lead reduced rockets by exponential amount evident from 150 rockets fired on 2009 post cast lead. Security fence worked great to, 0 suicide bombers, a terrorist threat that once nearly crippled Israels tourism industry years ago, But those things, cast kwmead and barrier were the worst things in human history... They saved Jewish lives from terrorism guess we should examine the peoples who vehemently opposed both without condemning or vehemently opposing rockets and suicide bombers. Hmm interesting corrolation brewing
... what is going on here... ... we accomplished this public relations achievement for them with Caste Lead... ... Goldstone also played his part...
If Israel is now so secure, why hasn't it vacated the settlements and ceased the occupation? Could it be because it never had any intention of doing so?
The fence work no doubt about it!
