By Jack Khoury and Tomer Zarchin Tags: Gilad Shalit Israel news Gaza IDFA new video calling for the return of abducted Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit has been released featuring the soldier's voice and the words "save me" written in his handwriting.
The video was released during a press conference held with Shalit's father Noam Shalit, and sources from the Campaign to Release Gilad Shalit said it is meant to "express his [Shalit's] cry for help."
The reproduction of Shalit's words is taken from a letter he sent home to his parents, and will stand at the forefront of the campaign.
In addition to the TV spots, the campaign will also send the written message to thousands of Israelis by way of email and SMS, and it will be featured in print advertisements.
During the press conference, Noam Shalit said that his family will sit in a protest tent outside of the prime minister's residence in Jerusalem, as a means of bringing the matter to the public's attention, after three years in which he said all efforts to secure Gilad's release failed.
