Poll: Youth name Ovadia Yosef as most influential Israeli

Gaydamak in 2nd place; 84 percent of youth believe a leader should have an extensive military background.

According to a poll conducted by the Center for Youth Leadership, 25 percent of Israeli youth believe Rabbi Ovadia Yosef is the most influential person in Israel, setting the Shas party spiritual leader in first place, Army Radio reported.

Arcadi Gaydamak came in second in the poll, according to the report, with 20 percent of the youth polled naming him as most influential.

According to Army Radio, the poll also found that 84 percent of youth believe that an Israeli leader must have an extensive military background.
