I'm shocked that only 77% have no confidence in Olmert. I pray everday that Olmert and his cabinet are removed from office. I'm saddened that Israelis en mass are not protesting in the streets as they did when Rabin was killed. Where are all the citizens of Israel? I'll give you a hint. I can even add to your comment and make it stronger-Shas voted for Oslo. It's called out with the old and in with the new. The new generation has greater Jewish values. Who will be leader, that is a good question, but what we have now is bad. If elections were held now, the ideal temporary government would be Likud with over 30 seats joined by the Torah parties with over 30 seats and growing and Leiberman with maybe 12 or better. The Likud will have a lot of input from Feiglin (last internal elections he was third place and his base is growing) hopefully within the Torah parties there exist a new younger segment and Leiberman is very clear about defining the Jewish State. So the next government will have over 75 seats and will exist on a platform of Jewish Unity and a Jewish State Plan. It can only fall if Netanyahu attempts to uproot Jews from there homes.

Olmert has been brave about offering land for peace. Not everyone has done so, especially since circumstances don't get easier with time. Someone has to make the decision to pursue peace, and Olmert has made a start. It won't help him or Israel if the public don't continue to support him on this issue.

Ehud was a good mayor for Jerusalem, which is a fairly weak political background, in terms of preparation, for the demanding job he is in now. Benjamin on the other hand has spent much time with international politics and probably has a deeper familiarity with running Israel.
