Police suspect man committed suicide after killing wife in Rehovot

Police suspect a man from Rehovot killed his wife and committed suicide on Monday after killing his wife after their lifeless bodies were found in their apartment.

Magen David Adom medics who arrived on the scene found the couple had both sustained gun shot wounds to the head. They declared the woman dead and attempted to resuscitate the man who was in critical condition. He died a few minutes later.

The couple's son, a senior police official, said his parents' led a "normal" life and had strong ties to the community.

Israel Radio reported the man had recently been suffering from serious illnesses and was on heavy medication.
