Hadera police on Thursday pursued a teenager who was suspected of trying to snatch an Israel Defense Forces soldier's weapon near Hadera.

On Thursday afternoon, the police received a report that a soldier had been lightly hurt during a struggle with a teenager, apparently Arab, who tried to take his military issued weapon.

The soldier was apparently able to retain his weapon and defend himself, and the teen fled the scene. Hadera police set up roadblocks around the area, and questioned the soldier.

Witnesses told the police investigators that the suspect was spotted on a street in the area. Other witnesses said the suspect was seen getting into a truck which was later located at another Hadera junction. Police forces are investigating the incident.
