Police probing whether man threw teenage daughter from third floor

Father and daughter had argued about the teen's manner of dress; girl is unconscious and in moderate condition.

Police are investigating whether a 16-year-old Be'er Sheva girl who fell from her third floor apartment Thursday night was actually thrown from the apartment by her father.

The girl is currently hospitalized in moderate condition and is unconscious in Soroka Medical Center. Police arrested the father, and Be'er Sheva Magistrate's Court agreed Friday to extend his remand until Saturday.

An initial investigation revealed that the girl's parents are divorced, and her father, who lives in northern Israel, was visiting his daughter in his ex-wife's Be'er Sheva home.

Shortly after midnight, the two had an argument over the manner in which the teenage girl was dressed. Neither the girl's mother nor brother was present at the time of the incident.

Police sources added that the father does not have a criminal history.
