For the second time in a week, the Israel Police foiled a stabbing attack in Jerusalem on Wednesday, arresting a young Palestinian woman, carrying a kitchen knife, in the Old City.

During questioning, the young woman confessed that she had planned to stab a police officer.

The would-be assailant arrived at the central entrance to the Old City in Jerusalem, leading to the Temple Mount, and caught the eye of two officers patrolling the area. The police officers searched her, recovered the knife, and took her into custody for questioning.

On Monday, police arrested two Arab youths carrying a commando knife in the Pisgat Ze'ev neighborhood of Jerusalem, foiling a stabbing attack.

During a preliminary investigation, the pair said they had planned on carrying out a terror attack.
