Police arrest four over shots fired at Oslo synagogue
Norwegian police say more arrests may be on the horizon, say detainees are of varying backgrounds.
By ReutersOSLO - Norwegian police on Tuesday arrested four men suspected of firing shots at an Oslo synagogue last weekend, the national news agency NTB reported.
The four, aged between 20 and 30, were suspected of having fired at least 10 shots at the synagogue in central Oslo with an automatic weapon, or of having taken part in the incident.
"The four men have different ethnic backgrounds," police Inspector Iver Stensrud told NTB, but he declined to say where they were from.
Stensrud said there might be further arrests.
"We have intelligence information that it will not necessarily stop with this," he told NTB.
No one was injured in the shooting, which took place in the early hours of Sunday. It was the most serious of a series of attacks on the synagogue in recent months.
The Mosaic Religious Community, which owns the synagogue, had asked for better protection of its property following threats and after the site was vandalised last month.

Let's start a new game at Haartez. Guessing the ethnic backgrounds of those who attack Jews and synagogues in Euro nations. I hope this Swede who said they wre of different ethnic backgrounds knows that an Egyptian, a Jordanian ( palestinian or Hashemite), a Syrian, a Morroccan, a Tunisian, an Algerian, an Iraqi, a Saudi Arabian, a Yemenite, a Sudanese or a Kuwaiti are all of the same ethnic group- just as is that favorite of favorites for using automatic weapons in Europe - palestinians. Now could be an Arab, an Iranian, A Malay and a Chechen. But somehow I doubt it.
I live in Quebec as well.The authorities are sh..t..g in their pants at the thought of raising the famous "Arab rage" by being honest.It is amazing to see how the Arabs have intimidated the west.its no wonder they disrespect us, I dont respect us.Who would? We dont respect ourselves.As you mention if Mosques had been attacked politicians would be out there talking about "roots causes of terrorism" and the need not to "alienate " the Muslims and how this is a terribel hate crme etc.Its quite revolting isnt it.

If the shots had been fired at a mosque, Norweigans would be shot in the back in Somalia, their exports (X-C skis) would be banned in Arab countries, Al Quaeda would make threats and Norway's embassies would be burned from Indonesia to Morocco! Meanwhile in Oslo the police (if they are like Quebec's) are pondering if it could possibly be a hate crime.
