The average value of company Passover gifts is NIS 530 per employee, about the same as last year.
According to the Manufacturers Association, employers spent NIS 250 million on gifts this year, also similar to last year.
The figures come from an association survey. The overall expenditure on gifts to workers is expected to hit NIS 1.8 billion this year - up 10 percent from 2005.
Also, this Passover, five times more employers gave actual gifts, as opposed to gift vouchers.
Seventy-five percent gave vouchers this year, compared to 96 percent last year.
As to the choice of which vouchers to give, 61 percent of firms said they chose by the size of the discount provided, while 10 percent chose according to the size of the chain selling the vouchers.
Fifty-four percent gave the gifts the week before the holiday, 24 percent two weeks before, and 22 percent on the eve of the holiday
