A Parks Authority inspector on Sunday foiled an attempted terrorist attack, when overpowered a knife-wielding Palestinian man in Jerusalem.

The inspector was touring a site near the Mount of Olives, when he said he noticed a Palestinian man with a knife in hand approaching him. He then pulled a gun and apprehended the man, who was then arrested by police.

Police have stated they believe the man's motive was political and, are at the moment trying to determine how he reached the site, and whether he is a resident of East Jerusalem.

Last Thursday, a Palestinian man infiltrated the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo, where he fatally stabbed Abraham Ozeri, 86, and wounded a policeman.
