You seem to be implying that the protests at Bilin have been peaceful. You can see a lot of footage of these protests on YouTube, and all involve rioting, property destruction, and other violence. While moving this part of the security fence might, on balance, be a reasonable act, I am concerned that it will be seen as a successful outcome of violence. More violence will follow.

You are right Jo, but you don't connect the "Jews" who are now in Israel with the Jews you claim have historical rights. If anything, Palestinians aren't people from "all over" (as if the "Red Indians" weren't originally from Asia, btw). These sorts of things should be backed by Israel. Whenever possible, Israel should seize upon the opportunity to yield to peaceful movements. How else will anyone learn that violence does not work unless you show them what does work? So far, the general consensus is that violence prevails. This attitude strengthens Hamas' militant relations as well as making the Israeli stance more militant. Respond to those who do not use force, or you will alienate them within their own population.

The majority did not originate from here but elsewhere. If you are going for the orginals peoples here, history does not back them up. Read the Roman chronicles and historians, the New Testament and even lots of historic Arab texts. Not to mention modern historic texts to do with the Holy Land. Jews have a stronger claim.
