PA policemen uncover tunnels along Gaza's border with Egypt
Security forces seal off 25 meters deep tunnel used to smuggle arms; Qassam wounds woman soldier in Sderot.
By Gideon Alon APPalestinian security forces discovered two underground tunnels along the Gaza Strip's border with Egypt on Tuesday that they suspect were dug to smuggle weapons and other contraband.
The tunnels was dug 25 meters (yards) underground and reached Egypt.
Security forces prepared to seal the tunnel later in the day. They said they suspected the tunnel was dug for criminal purposes, not militant activity, but noted its investigation was still in a preliminary stage.
Smuggling of weapons between Egypt and Gaza is not uncommon. Since Israel pulled out of Gaza last summer, turning over control of the border to Egypt and the Palestinians, cross-border smuggling of weapons and explosives has increased considerably, the IDF says.
Qassam rockets wounds woman soldier in SderotPalestinian gunners in the Gaza Strip fired two Qassam rockets at the western Negev town of Sderot early on Monday, wounding a woman soldier, who was hit by shrapnel.
The woman was taken to Barzilai hospital in Ashkelon with moderate wounds.
Several Sderot residents were treated for anxiety following the attack, in which one of the rockets hit a crowded area in the center of the city.
The attack also disrupted electrical power in parts of the city.

Or this was a Hamas tunnel found by fatah police or vice versa. Finding a tunnel by palestinians is like a corrupt cop finding drugs.
for ramadan . They are building better ones today . Pals have a whole underground system under gaza , shalit is in one of them. the separation wall is effective , now they are out to get israel from underground while playing the victims in front of the world tv al jazeera cameras , Pals authority is pretending in combating terror to get some euros for ramadan or public servants. they have been empowered by hezbollah tunnels and bunkers example . It seems that if IDF enter and destroy terror gaza tunnels and bunkers , pals will ask for unifil. pals are waiting to see the outcome of lebanon unifil in relation to hezbollah ability or capacity performance . They are already provoking IDF on a small scale to test IDF reaction , same as the gaza terror 2 quassams rockets fires at sderot this morning. nothing will satisfy them but their eyes on a palestine westernway starting easternway even if it takes 2000 years
Ali, it is great that Palestinian security forces are reacting to these tunnellers, but I asure you, these tunnels hurt Israelis as well when they are used for arms smuggling. Good work Security Forces fellahs!
Its good that PA policemen discovered these tunnels.It means that such tunnels are used in away to threaten PA economy and security . Criminal attacks are exceeding in a big acceleration ,weapons trade in Gaza became a big problem as due to the unstable secuirity situation every one wants to have a piece of weapon to defend himself and his family ; But unfortunately such weapons came to the reach of teen agers who bwgan to use it widely !! So, Palestinians are in favour of ending this phenomena of tunnels because it hurts first the Palestinians and no one else
