Olmert wins Israeli election
In March, acting prime minister Ehud Olmert's Kadima party defeated Labor, headed by Amir Peretz, and Benjamin Netanyahu's strife-torn Likud.
But Kadima's margin of victory is much smaller than Olmert had hoped, and the new prime minister must grant wide concessions to coalition partners.
