Tell them that the list of prisoners they are demanding will never ever be released if our soldiers are killed... that a year will be tacked on to all of their sentences for every additional day that our soldiers are held. Take away all the ‘politicalness’ of the story, I think that Israel shows the true meaning of Memorial Day. Having grown up in the US and seeing how Memorial Day is here, I was lucky enough to visit Israel last year for Memorial and Independence Days...such a change in attitude and respect for those who have fallen in service for their country. So many are forgotten in the US, but for Israel, they are not forgotten and every person (including myself while there) can feel the deepness of the day.
