Do you fear that an embassy in Jerusalem could not be protected, like your current on in Tel-Aviv, I am sure Israeli's will have the means to help, and if in need the USA military and CIA can probably help ensure the protection that your property so rightly deserves. But, if your fear is from violent reprisal from either outside or inside your country as a result of the decision to folllow through with a LAW FROM YOUR CONGRESS, PEOPLE WHO ARE DIRECTLY ELECTED, AND REPRESENT THE PEOPLE BY REP BY POP, UNLIKE YOURSELF WHO IS INDIRECTLY ELECTED THROUGH ELECTORAL COLLEGES. Of course as the city limits of Jerusalem seem to expand, the Israeli government could simply declare wherever the US embassy is to be within Jerusalem. Next year Ramallah will probably be declared inside Jerusalem at the rate the city limits grow.

Obama nor Dubya nor anybody else has the power to declare Jerusalem the capital of the Jews. Even if the US embassy was there, the international community has not and will not recognize Israel's blatant land grabs and in contravention of the original agreement when Europes 'Jews' plopped down over there. The word "conquest" denotes initiating war. Israel attacked in self defense, after letting Jordan know that if they did not attack, neither would Israel. Jordan attacked anyway. Jerusalem was truly conquered in 1948 in fighting initiated by the Arab countries after the UN agreed to partition. Not one country gave any objection. Jordan did not live up to Armistice Agreements. Again, Not one country gave any objection. Why is it "conquest" when Israel defends itself. Why is it not conquest when Israel is attacked?

It is good that you Zionists are reminded twice a year that your annexation is considered illegal, even by your big brother. Unless you make a deal with the Palestinians, the reminders will be coming in.

Any compromise worked out would be OK with the US as long as there is Israeli Palestinian agreement. Obama has taken a position that is, of course, no different than any other US President, including Bush the Younger. Do you think there are enough on either side to get the politicians to the table or to force such an agreement?

The trouble with that view is that it takes Jerusalem away from Israel and the Jewish people. How long would it be before the rest of Israel followed too? It is Jerusalem that is so important to our faith, and to our history, and to surrender that, is in my opinion, giving up everything we have stood for since 1948. In fact, the Psalmist says, "If I forget you oh Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill..."

Beyond ridiculous! Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Israel. It is an affront to all Israelis, all Jews throughout the world, that the US, our 'good friend' should not have its Embassy in our capital.

Maybe we Israelis who want peace should, along with Palestinians who want that peace as fervently as we do, be thinking of making Tel Aviv capital of Israel, Ramallah capital of Palestine and Jerusalem Holy Capital of the Monotheistic World.

The US will probably move the Embassy to Israel to West Jerusalem when we can also open an Embassy to Palestine in East Jerusalem. The US does not and has never recognized the annexation based on the conquest. Make a deal with the Palestinians.

Why do we even pay attention to this? The promise to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem is already ignored by most US Jews as it has proven to be an ongoing farce for many years. Any future candidate that does not promise this action will at least be honest.
