In my opinion to appease someone is usually a good thing.A sign of strength and humanity. There are some however who align appeasement with weakness, and paradoxically this encourages them to act even worse. Although Obama is appeasing Muslims everywhere I do not expect this to bring about a change of heart in the intolerance of their tyrannical leaders. Instead it will be perceived as a sign of weakness, a cowering of the West towards the strength of Islam. It will encourage further extremism amongst the Islamic governments. It might lighten the hearts of citizens of Islamic countries to be portrayed differently - and rightly so. But the benefits of this would only be felt if these citizens had any human or legal or voting rights in their own countries. The consequences of appeasment would only be felt if Obama were appeasing Canada or Europe. It will have no effect upon Islamic regimes where the citizens have no rights and are seen as having no worth by their own leaders.
