Dean appointed to Holon Institute of Technology's design faculty

Prof. Dana Arieli-Horowitz has been appointed dean of the design faculty of the Holon Institute of Technology, replacing the acting dean, Amos Bar-Eli. Arieli-Horowitz, who for the past eight years has headed the history and theory department of Jerusalem's Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, specializes in the reciprocal relationship between art and politics in both democratic and totalitarian regimes. She has published several books, as well as dozens of journal articles and texts for exhibition catalogs of contemporary Israeli artists, particularly in design, photography and visual media. 'Fill the Void' to show at N.Y. and Venice film festivals

Rama Burshtein's "Lemale et Hahalal" ("Fill the Void") has been purchased for international distribution by the German film sales company The Match Factory. The announcement followed news that "Fill the Void," whose world premiere will be at next month's Venice International Film Festival, will be screened at the New York Film Festival, which opens September 28. Dror Moreh's documentary "Shomerei Ha'saf" ("The Gatekeepers"), featuring interviews with six former Shin Bet security service heads, will also be shown at the festival. (Nirit Anderman)
