Near 20 mortar shells fired from Gaza over course of Thursday
IDF troops fired on while rescuing car wreck victims near Gaza; IDF kills unarmed Palestinian in Gaza.
By Yuval Azoulay Tags: Gaza IDFPalestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired near 20 mortar shells at Israel on Thursday, according to Army Radio. There were no injuries in any of the incidents.
A shell fired Thursday evening struck an Israeli town north of the Gaza Strip. Three others launched later Thursday landed near the security fence in northern Gaza.
IDF troops came under mortar fire earlier Thursday while rescuing two other soldiers lightly hurt in a road accident near Israel's border with the Gaza Strip.
The accident occured when two military vehicles collided near the security fence between Israel and northern Gaza.
Palestinian militants fired two shells at the troops at the scene of the accident. A few of the militants then fled.
Meanwhile, IDF troops shot and killed an unarmed Palestinian who approached the security fence separating Israel from the Gaza Strip, the military said Thursday.
After dark on Wednesday, the Palestinian approached a no-man's zone along the fence where militants frequently try to carry out attacks, and threw something, the military said.
Suspecting the man was a militant, soldiers opened fire and killed him, the army said.
When the troops examined the body at daybreak, they realized that he was unarmed, the military said.
Palestinian officials identified the dead man as 21-year-old Salem Abu Saada.
Meanwhile Wednesday, two IDF soldiers were lightly wounded when two military vehicles collided near the security fence in northern Gaza.
When rescue forces arrived at the scene to evacuate the wounded troops, Palestinian militants opened fire and hurled mortar shells toward the Israeli force. No one was hurt in the incident, and the Palestinians fled the scene.

Under the circumstances, he seemed to be a threat. What if nothing had been done to him and he had blown himself up killing people? You say that they did it because he was an Arab. Who's attacking Israel? Is it the Japanese by any chance?
He was there: on his own turf. Even if he already crossed the border, killing him is a crime. The man was no threat to Israel. Being an Arab he was 'free game' (IMO).
That's what the Gazans have always been doing. They have never stopped attacking Israel.
Since he was there, his intention could not be good. Or maybe he wanted to commit suicide, in which case he got it.
What did he expect the IDf will do, when and where confrontations were going on? What did he had to approach the fence for?
"what was the man doing at a place used by terrorists and were pals use to launching qassams at Israel from?" And of course, this justifies the death of this 21 year old unarmed Palestinian man. But naturally; it's the IDF we're discussing here...what else could they have done with such a threat as this man posed to their numbers?
"Let them come near the fence and shoot them no jail, no expenses for Israël" You'll see how fast they would shoot you, too, if you went to Gaza and anywhere near the fence.
"Suspecting the man was a militant, soldiers opened fire and killed him, the army said. When the troops examined the body at daybreak, they realized that he was unarmed, the military said" What reason is there that the IDF cannot simply arrest this one man; they have the numbers and the weapons on their side. It really seems as if Palestinian life is meaningless to the IDF. After killing, they can make up whatever story they like; what did this poor man do, look at the fence in a harsh manner?
Think 'christiano/judeofascism' is better?
Kill first and ask questions later does not work, except in slogans.
How to waite 'normal' response from Jews?
Distinctly unfriendly people.
and where pals use to launching qassams at Israel from?
They have lanched 20 qassams at Israel just today.
I already suggested installing the 'spring guns' the GDR border guards were so 'successful' with on their Wall. (Sofar my post has not appeared) JJ
"Meanwhile, IDF troops shot and killed an unarmed Palestinian..." Killing people who do something 'suspect' on the other side of the border for reasons of intimidation has proven ineffective. Why not install 'spring guns' the Eastgermans decorated their Wall with? These automatic shooters have no conscience and can be better programmed than humans. True, the 'excitement' aspect is missing; too bad.
To all you retarded and uneducated who never took a physics class to learn that for every action there is a reaction: these shootings don't happen in a vacuum; they happen for a reason; and that reason is constant attack by Palestinians on Israelis; the day no more attacks, then no more shootings. Isn't that simple enough to comprehend?
killing in the hundreds and thousands!
More money for pal terrorists, thanks to cowed Israel pandering to the EU.
THOSE TERRORISTS ARE VERY DANGEROUS. NOBODY CAN COME TO THE FENCE. BE AWARE. NO TO PLO STATE.NEVER.
Do you know the meaning of "no mans land? All of Gaza should be made into a no mans land. We already have too many prisoners to release. Kill anyone who is even suspected and then ask questions later. You cannot trust the Arabs. I certainly would not trust you as far as I could throw you MS ARAB.
gaza/israel border makes the inner city gang infested neighborhoods, seem like kinder garden. have you ever had a tour of duty at this border , when everything from donkey carts to red cross vehicles to kids, have been employed as terrorist tactics for either shootings or suicide bombings. if your a soldier there, and operates like the France swiss border , your life insurance would sky rocket.
He should have stayed at home.
The trigger happy IDF has found that there is no penalty for shooting Palestinians through the fence. There isn't even an investigation. If you think that this will lead to a rash of trigger happy IDF shooting through the fence, you are a genius.
no jail, no expenses for Israël
Then make up an excuse, like; he threw something at the fence.
'But now, for the first time, I see you are a man like me. I thought of your hand-grenades, of your bayonet, of your rifle; now I see your wife and your face and our fellowship. Forgive me, comrade. We always see it too late. Why do they never tell us that you are poor devils like us, that your mothers are just as anxious as ours, and that we have the same fear of death, and the same dying and the same agony--Forgive me, comrade; how could you be my enemy?'" Chapter 9, p. 223
The terrorists kill innocent Israeli civilians that are not tempting fate near no-man's land.
It happens all the time.
to killing any "terrorist" to killing "militants" now killing "suspected militants." Maybe next year they will be killing second cousins of men known to associate with militants.
killed on the spot, much cheaper a bullet in the head than giving them food every day in jail
Even Saddam Hussein got a trial before the dead penalty. Why it is so difficult to just arrest somebody, only one man by many armed soldiers, and examine what he is going to do? Sometimes it seems, that if IDF is threatened by a "stick", it hits with a sledge hammer.
it depend on nationality, religion or ideology? there are lifes and LIFES?
Kill first, ask questions later.
Nuremberg awaits...
In Gaza: a Palestinian dies of wounds and four others injured by Israeli army fire Another ill Palestinian dies after being denied exit from Gaza for treatment Thursday November 22, 2007 - 10:35 Just two days after a twelve-year old Palestinian child died after being prevented by Israeli forces from exiting Gaza, a 21-year old man with testicular cancer has also died after being denied exit. Israeli military invades the northern part of the West Bank, kidnaps Israeli army orders five Hamas members to be held without charge Wednesday November 21, 2007 - 16:07
"After dark on Wednesday, the Palestinian approached a no-man's zone along the fence where militants frequently try to carry out attacks, and threw something, the military said." This "something" must have been a bouquet of flowers, surely. And "after dark" adds romance to the whole thing. Surely, this was an unarmed Palestinian who had fallen in love with an IDF woman soldier, yes? Poor boy....he was unarmed.
