With Lieberman at his side, Netanyahu's war cabinet is on a one-way track to Iran
The merger between Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu obligates the left-wing and centrist parties to offer an ideological and practical alternative to the newly-formed war cabinet.

10 0 0Labor=sane, Likud=insane?
- By Jason

Don't you think your letting your political ideology out of the box a little too much and with more than a little exaggeration? The left has been irrelevant for some time and the extreme leftist media has kept the left alive by the shear force of their will power. A strong right wing party is a very smart political move. It will empower Netanyahu to separate himself from the extreme religious parties, if he wants. It's a far closer ideology to the mainstay of Likud voters and the left will have no chance of winning in the election because of this merger. To call Likud now racist and xenophobic is not just extreme, to use the words of the author, it's insane!

the right-wing parties will gain momentum and receive support. It's really unfortunate that the political spectrum in Israel is so divided - and you know who was the catalyst to this fragmentation of Knesset members. Yup, it all began with PM Ariel Sharon who left Likud because of members like Bibi Netanyahu and formulated a centrist party, Kadima, to move forward on the Israeli-Palestinian front. Well, it's not too late for a centrist-left alliance.
