Two people were killed and three were injured on Friday morning in a head-on collision between a private vehicle and a minibus in Acre.

According to an initial police investigation, one of the drivers passed through a red light and as a result the vehicle tipped over and collided into the minibus at the entrance junction of Acre.

Two passengers from the private vehicle were killed, and three passengers from the minibus were injured. Five Magen David Adom ambulances were called to the scene and tended to those who were hurt.

The junction was closed to traffic following the accident.
