I think it was right after the 10 commandments were given that the killing began. If I'm not mistaken, Moses ordered the killing of those who worshipped the golden calf. And God Himself ordered Saul to completely genocide the Amalekites (Samuel 15). Oh well, praise the Lord and pass the ammunition. Not really, Israeli courts seldom truly punishes those who incite hatred against non-Jews and likely will do nothing here as well other than give the Rabbi a slap on the wrist. Typically in Israeli courts, a Palestinian would get a far longer sentence for throwing a rock at a Jew while resisting the destruction of their home than a Jewish settler would receive for killing the Palestinian while trying to destroy their home.

Inciting others to kill and torching the holy sites of another faith is not defensible, nor does it qualify as religious or academic freedom. It is instead the personification of evil, and the product of a G-dless soul...pure and simple.

The vast majority of people dying in the so-called "War on Terror" are Muslims and the vast majority of those are on "our" side. The Qur'an only permits killing in self defence as well. There are certainly those on both sides who blur the definition of self defence to justify the killing of innocents, but this is hardly a problem exclusive to Islam.
