Tel Aviv's Ayalon highway closes for repairs to damaged power line
Section between La Guardia and Hashalom interchanges was closed in both directions for twenty minutes, and caused heavy traffic in the area.
A section of Tel Aviv's Ayalon highway (Route 20) closed in both directions for twenty minutes on Thursday afternoon, in order for the Israel Electric Company to repair a power line damaged by a drill.
Ayalon Highways, which operates the road, said that it would only close for a short time, but the closure, between the La Guardia and Hashalom interchanges, caused heavy traffic jams in the area.
Train services between Tel Aviv HaHagana and Tel Aviv Center-Savidor stations were stopped while the power line was repaired, and were set to resume at 5 P.M. local time.
The Israel Electric Company said that damage to the power line did not cause any disruption to the electricity supply.
