Report: Palestinian olive trees in West Bank uprooted in suspected 'price tag' attack

Writing found at scene indicates that incident may have been response to a Palestinian stone throwing attack last week that killed an Israeli man and his son.

Several dozen Palestinian olive trees were uprooted on Wednesday night in the Mitzpe Eshtemoa area south of Hebron in a suspected "price tag" act by Israeli settlers, Army Radio reported.

According to the report, writing was found at the scene that said "Price tag Halhul", an apparent reference to the stone throwing attack in the Halhul area last week in which an Israeli man and his infant son were killed.

Civil Administration personnel have opened an investigation into the uprooting of the trees.

Earlier this week, Israel Police verified that a road accident last Friday that killed Asher Palmer and his son Yonatan occurred after a rock was thrown at their vehicle by a Palestinian.
