What really disturbs Shas and Mr. Ovadia Yosef

is that drafting yeshiva students will take them away from the yeshivas, meaning less money for the yeshivas; and those who have served in the army will be less likely to send their children to Shas state-supported schools, meaning less money for the schools. In other words, the whole Shas structure - and the Ashkenazi ultra-Orthodox enterprise as well - may collapse after a few years of yeshiva students serving in the IDF.

  I disagree and I am Orthodox. This students learned their whole life to learn and drink coffee. It's time to pull their fair share and end the resentment. The tzadikim in the time of Naviim fought to protect Israel physically and so should we.
