Any casual reading of even HaAretz reveals how there are judges who run off with ill-gotten money to Italy. More than lenient decisions in cases that many of the people in the public would regard as high crimes. The way high rolers are treated with kid gloves and people with "lesser crimes" who aren't blessed with deep pockets are given heavy sentences, and other irregularities in the Ciivil Courts. It is obvious, too, that "the evil Inclination" does affect Haredim and other Halachilally Observant Jews, but ithose transgressions tend to get banner headlines, and the Secular sins, are treated as day to day occurnaces. T'would seem the media prefers the money from deep pockets that slant the news to keep the wrath of the public off their backs, maybe.
