Outgoing FM Lieberman apologizes after insulting Israel's top three female politicians

I have often heard religious, Yiddish speaking Jews refer to the women's section in a synagogue as the "weiber Shul", with nothing derogatory about it. As for Lioerman, he was an excellent Foreign Minister, and a very rare creature, a politician who was not afraid to speak the truth, and not afraid to stand up to the nations of the world.

The Yiddish word "Weib" (plural: "Weiber") is a less than flattering word for a woman. The closest word in English is "broad" or perhaps "wench". However, there is absolutely no connection to anything Polish. Why is this expression translated here as referring to "Polish wenches"? Grab a dictionary!

Israel will now be in a better place without this biffon. Israel must now try to have proper talks with the Palestinians for a proper two states. There will never be peace untill this is done. The world is now demanding a free Palestinians country.

How could this buffoon who epitomizes everything that is wrong in Israel reach so high on the political ladder. What a sad state of affairs that he did not go or got pushed earlier.What is sadder is that there are apologists out there who will defend him.

Learn Yiddish, and stop blowing this out of proportion. webers only means "wives" or "women" and nothing more

Just give him a few years more in office and with some adjusting of israeli legislation he will finally live unabashed in the country that desires politicians like him. Freedom from self-criticism and outside critique; the ultimate dream of the current government.

Lieberman comes across as a very low-level individual for me. If he speaks this way publicly, what does he say behind people's backs ? And how can he seriously represent the Israeli government ?

Incredible that someone like that advances seriously in Israel. You expect his sort in Golden Dawn in Greece of Jobbok in Hungary.
