Avigdor Lieberman, who handed in his letter of resignation as foreign minister on Sunday following his indictment, issued a formal apology to the Polish community in Israel for what has become known as his "Weibers" speech (a derogatory term in Yiddish that refers to Polish wenches).

I have often heard religious, Yiddish speaking Jews refer to the women's section in a synagogue as the "weiber Shul", with nothing derogatory about it. As for Lioerman, he was an excellent Foreign Minister, and a very rare creature, a politician who was not afraid to speak the truth, and not afraid to stand up to the nations of the world.
thank you
