Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met a few days ago with Israel Beiteinu chairman, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman. Olmert, who was convicted in July of breach of trust when he was minister of trade, labor and industry, and is still on trial on charges of corruption in the Holyland real estate scandal, is said by close associates to be planning a political comeback.
Olmert and Lieberman meet, ahead of approaching elections
In 2006, Lieberman left Olmert's cabinet over the then overtures to the Palestinians at the Annapolis conference. However, the two remained close even after Lieberman bolted.
