A toddler was killed on Saturday when her mother accidently hit her with her car while backing out of the driveway of her house.

Initial investigations into the accident, which occurred in the northern Israeli Arab town of Tamra, reveal that the mother did not notice her two-and-a-half year old daughter in the home's driveway.

The toddler was taken to a medical clinic in the town, where her death was declared.

Earlier on Saturday, a motorcyclist was killed in a car accident on Highway 65 between the Megiddo Junction and Afula in northern Israel.

The motorcyclist attempted to make a u-turn at Megiddo Junction when he accidently turned into oncoming traffic and was hit by a car, an investigation into the accident revealed.

Paramedics that arrived on the scene immediately declared his death. The driver of the car that hit him was lightly injured and taken to Haemek Hospital in Afula for treatment.
