Study also finds that the highest-paid male doctors earn almost a third more than their female counterparts, and that half of Israeli doctors were born in the former Soviet Union and in Eastern Europe.
More than one in 10 Israeli doctors (about 11 percent) are living and working as physicians abroad, according to the first research study of its kind conducted by the Health Ministry and the Central Bureau of Statistics.
