Modi'in Mayor Haim Bibas threatened on Tuesday to bar ultra-Orthodox visitors from his city's central park in response to Modi'in Ilit Mayor Yaakov Gutterman's pledge to keep non-Haredi visitors out of an archaeological site slated to open soon in his town.

where is this going? Anyway, one should understand that the entrire activity of archeology in an occupied territory (and, yes,also in a disputed territory) is forbidden. And what about the protection ? Will these utlra-orthodox people just be able to walk and dig in the site? destroy elements they consider non-jewish? What about the authenticity of the site: it is dated Second Temple period, but also in that time, the majority of the inhabitants of Palestine, as the area was called in that time, were not Jewish. What a mess! That's what you get when you put religion in your nationalist ideology.
