Recent public opinion polls have Meretz increasing its Knesset representation in the January election, possibly even doubling its number of seats from three to six. That is still a far cry from the party's heyday - the 1992 election gave it 12 MKs in the 13th Knesset - but it would nevertheless make Meretz officials very happy.
