Mayor of the Israeli settlement Ariel dies at 70
Ron Nachman moved to Ariel when it was only a small town and presided over it for over three decades to see it become a flourishing city with a university.
Ariel Mayor Ron Nachman died on Friday at Petah Tikva's Beilinson Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Nachman, 70, was an Israeli politician, a Knesset member for the Likud from 1992 to 1996, and founder of one of the West Bank's largest Israeli settlement Ariel over which he presided at first as head of the local council from 1978 and then from 1985, when it was officially recognized as a city, as mayor...
