To 11, 12, 13. I believe that you realize in fact how pathetic you sound. You know damn well that this action is atrocious and shameful by all standards; so you try desperately change, relativize the issue. One speaks of the customs of the land: you must know that Anat has equal right to the land and to the religion for that matter. One refers to the majority's ways (which is irrelevant vis a vis the human right of worship): but don't you know that majority of Jews are not Orthodox?! And most pathetic of all, talking about the Temple Mount. First, Who said that they are not concern by it? And secondly, one injustice doesn't make an other right.

Why not give the same coverage of woman singing in mosques in Mecca or Islamabad .

Just because she doesn't fight for Jewish freedom of worship in Har Habayit doesn't mean that we shouldn't support her fight for freedom of worship at the kotel. Many of the women of the wall are Halachically observant Jews and it is not for other talkbackers to question their motives. As a Halachically observant Jew myself who is humiliated by the police when I go to Har Habayit, I don't want anybody to be humiliated at the kotel.

When we go to a foreign couintry and visit a religious site, we observe the customs of the site out of respect for the local customs at that place. American Reform Jews seem to believe that the customs they observe should be enforced at the Western Wall, even though those customs are not observed by most of world Jewry. Why is Anat Hoffman less reluctant to offend the sensibilities of observant Jews than those of Roman Catholics in Italy, or of Moslems on the Temple Mount. Why does she believe that the traditions of Reform and ConservativeJews, which many Jews around the world do not observe, should be observed at the Western Wall?

Im interested to know whether Anat Hoffman and her women friends woud also join a demonstration against the ongoing decree forbidding Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount. Freedom of prayer for everyone Anat? By the way -are these so-called "religious" women who feel theserious spiritual need to sing with a Torah scroll at the Kotel, do they take other Jewish issues of modesty, family purity and Mikveh, womens dress code and kashrut as seriously? Do they follow the Halachah or are they against the Halachah also? Can someone please enlighten me?

It is not surprising that the ultra-orthodox are gaining increasing control over how their fellow Jews in Israel can and cannot express themselves when they feel they have carte blanche to pursue their agenda whereas their "victims" are either apathetic or too few in number to make any difference or are too sensitive to the possible reaction of others to make a sufficiently strong stand.

Sheer Stupidity to arrest Those at Prayer !!! Are there not any REAL crines or Even Criminals ?

Women have just as much right as the men to pray at the Western Wall. They should come in ever increasing numbers till they overwhelm the narrow-minded men's code of conduct.
