Knesset passes law allowing police to confiscate alcohol consumed in public
Police say the law, which was previously an emergency regulation, has changed alcohol consumption habits, leading to decline in violence.
The Knesset turned into law Monday night what was previously an emergency regulation, allowing police to confiscate and pour out alcoholic beverages in the possession of people on the street. The new law will also prohibit the sale of such beverages between 11 P.M. and 6 A.M., except where the sale is legally permitted.
