Israeli MK proposes: People leaving Haredi world should get same benefits as new immigrants
According to Meretz, some 400 people each year start process of leaving the ultra-Orthodox community, and they need help moving from a closed-off community to the modern, Western world that is secular Israel.
Meretz leader Zahava Gal-On has proposed a law which would give the same rights, benefits and tax breaks to people who leave behind their ultra-Orthodox background as the state currently gives to new immigrants.
