Israeli Arabs fume at plans to reward schools for IDF enlistment

Or maybe its because others are too dumb to realize that bribing teachers so they try to recruit kids into the IDF is wrong. Maybe I'm just living in my naive little country of Canada, but last time I checked schools aren't supposed to be for recruiting kids into military service.

Is this how people measure societal worth these days, through your ability to sign up for military service, are "normal" isrealis really worth that much, getting drafted into an army, it may be a sacrifice on their part but not one they signed up for.

There are state religious schools which receive full state funding and haredi controlled schools which receive full or partial funding inspite of the fact that most ultra-Orthodox Jewish boys receive little education in secular subjects up to age 14 and none afterwards. So the state is funding haredim children regardless of the fact that their own community is doing its best to ensure that they will not become productive members of their country and their curriculum does not comply with that laid down by the state.

Yeah, I would expect that in any normal state.

There was a proposal to transfer the municipality of several Arab towns into the PA. Not surprisingly, all Arabs citizens prefer living under Israel citizenship. As a matter of fact you do not see Israeli Arabs moving from Israel to Arab countries. But you hear of complaints that Arabs can not obtain Israeli citizenship. "Apartheid"?

It is still Israel but instead of Israeli citizen you have IDF... Not a similar comparison.
