Israel threatens to deport African American convert to Judaism

So how is it that all these converts seem to be able to make Allah but i who was born a Jew can not get any help to make Aliyah. I went to Nefesh b Nefesh who according to their charter and their fund raising and being paid by the Israeli government are supposed to help but they told me i was not a good investment for them. Could it be because i am in a wheelchair. I believe Nefesh b Nefesh who pays Rabbi Fass and his wife 400,000 dollars a year is one of the most corrupt organizations in the Jewish world.

If i wanted to come and i am a believer of Ya why can't i come to live there? What if Ya has sent me there with my family for what ever reason and I prove not to be someone that's as so many people call a tourist. I just want a change of environment for me and my family, or if I don't have a family and its just me, why can't I come to live there? I understand there is a process that's got to be done its that way in every country but if my background comes back that meets the criteria I feel I should be allowed to claim legal residency.

I am a convert. I am of spanish descent. I converted 20 years ago. I hear much of this issue and I have lived in Israel for a Year and still waiting on my citizenship. While this is a frustrating prospect I understand some of the safeguards the government takes. The fact is that in the States there are many groups who seek the status of being Jewish while not actually having intention of a Judaic life. I was converted through Chabad back when they were actually doing conversions and I did provide all of my paperwork. My question would be....why did he nont provide the paperwork I was required to provide? I think this is less about his race and more about the validity of his history. For my own case the rabbinute immediately recognized my conversion but it is the Mizrad Hapanim that is, to date, not recognizing it.

Why didn't they approach the Israeli embassy in America before coming? That's the normal procedure. You arrive at Ben Gurion with an immigration visa already stamped in your passport.

...the two groups is meaningless. Unless i am mistaken, i was under the impression that the Israeli ''law of return'' which underpins immigration & nationality policy is based on the Nazi interpretation of Who is a Jew..... ie. ANYONE WHO HAS AT LEAST ONE JEWISH GRANDPARENT...so on this basis (apart from the 1.6 million israeli arabs living within its 1967 borders) i would expect a few hundred thousand citizens of Israel to be non-halachic jews, maybe even upwards of 1/2 million.

Were they all sent beck to Russia?

A very interesting issue and article. We should rename Israel ' home of the ultra-religious people or Israel Haredi Repulbic' and nomore 'home of Jews'. What would Israel do if all the persons of the Reform/Masorti movement gave nothing more to our state? Think twice about it if you really are khakhamim!

This is not the first article I've read in Jewish newspapers showing blatant discrimination against blacks, Jewish or not.
