Israel falls near bottom of press freedom rankings

The Reporters Without Borders Press Freedom Index ranked Israel 112 out of 179 countries, 20 spots lower than last year, due largely to Operation Pillar of Defense and a new ranking methodology.

The Reporters Without Borders Press Freedom Index for 2013 has ranked Israel No. 112 out of 179 countries – a plunge of 20 spots from the 2012 index and the lowest ranking the organization has ever given Israel.

They should work it out with Freedom House who just listed Israel as the ONLY free country in the Mideast. On the other hand...

The The PA & Hamas are listed with such despotic regimes as Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Syria and so on. Oh and any complaints from Journalists without Borders about Erodgan's Turkey -- the supposed proof that Islam can exist as a democracy? Freedom House reports Turkey has just reached the milestone of having more journalists in prison than any other country on earth -- even more than China or Iran.

112 is a good place if consider that are only two journalists in Israel:Amira Haas and Gideon Levy

Now because two of the worse journalists Yacimovich and Lapid stopped to mime journalism and mimic poliliticiens ones could hope that a new standard will be the model for a real journalism,
