IDF: Suicide is the primary cause of death among Israeli soldiers

Wikipedia has a table of suicide rates by country. Israel is #66 in the world, better than all of Europe and the US. It is behind such idyllic places as Egypt, Colombia, Venezuela, Uzbekistan, and, world leader in lowest suicide rate : Haiti.

I would try and compare these statistics to the suicide statistics of the general public. I would than compare the suicide statistics of the Israeli public to the public rates in other nations. It maybe that these soldiers are just killing themselves because they have always been depressed and not as a result of theirs military service. People may assume that the suicides are a result of PTSD and not innate clinical disabilities.

The solution is simple. just bring peace to israel and its neighbours and lives with those soldiers will be saved.

The US military has roughly the equivalent amount of suicide proportionality.

The same can be said for American soldiers, where they go in to kill people in third world countries under the guise of "protecting freedom". Eventually they come to see the truth with their own eyes...that they have been duped and that these people pose NO threat to America!

Something is wrong, not particularly "in the Kingdom od Denmark", but rather in the military and in the Israeli society. This is a sickening and saddening news. In a democratic society a governemnt must guarantee the wealth of every of its citizens. Joining the army as a healthy young person, and committing suicide as a result of serving the armed forces is unacceptable! A broadly ranged investigation will have to investigate the reason for this phenomenon fastly.

Israel should investigate use of these drugs for their soldiers after they have been tested on the Americans. It is a terrible waste to lose soldiers in suicide after all their training.
