Firefighters destroying Tel Aviv's last gravel coastal cliff
The city has earmarked at least part of the site, in the far north of Tel Aviv, for a future park that preserves the coastal environment.
The Tel Aviv fire department is using the last remaining coastal cliff in the city made of kurkar, a type of calcareous sandstone unique to Israel, for exercises, causing considerable damage to the site.
