Ehud Barak sells luxury Tel Aviv apartment for NIS 26.5 million
Akirov Towers in northern Tel Aviv have become a symbol of luxury and the detachedness of Israel's economic elite.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak has sold his luxury apartment in the Akirov Towers in Tel Aviv for 26.5 million shekels.
Barak was seeking 30 million shekels for the apartment. The apartment was first put up for sale in 2008, when he sought 40 million shekels.
The five-room apartment sold by Barak is located on the 31st floor of the westernmost of the three towers that comprise the Akirov complex in northern Tel Aviv.
From the apartment, it is possible to see the entire Tel Aviv region.
Barak bought the apartment in 2003 for 2.5 million dollars.
Barak's residence drew much criticism, and the Akirov Towers have become a symbol of luxury and the detachedness of Israel's economic elite.
