Dozens of African migrants denied request to convert to Judaism

Nobody has the right to tell any group what their policy of inclusion aught to be. Conversion in Judaism has a many centuries tradition and method which anyone can follow. It just so happens, conversion for the sake of immigration is not one of those conditions. Israel does not owe anyone citizenship nor do the Jews need to take on the tastes and styles of other religions. Pretending that this is an issue of racism ignores the Ethiopian Jews that were flown from Ethiopia, on the efforts, money of Israel and Jews around the world. It ignores the work done with the Jews of India, Bnei Menashe, who have been accepted as Jews while other groups in India, calling themselves Bnei Ephraim, are still seeking recognition as Jews. There is a hallichic process. Try to respect it.

To become a jew you really really have to want to do it... and being a political prisoner is not one of those reasons... let those people move back to Sudan and then try there maybe after a year of conversion rights they can then move back to Israel legally this time...

with so few Jews in the world, I feel we should not turn anyone down.
