Border guards caught on camera violently arresting settler, 15
Pictures taken by settlers show security forces grabbing teenager by the neck and spraying tear gas.
Israeli Border Guards arrested Thursday a 15-year-old yeshiva student at the West Bank outpost of Havat Gilad using excessive force, settlers who witnessed the event reported.
The event took place after the outpost residents phoned the firefighters department complaining that a fire had erupted in a nearby field.
Shortly after the fire was extinguished, the settlers said the border police arrived at the outpost, entered the yeshiva in which the men were studying, and brutally attacked two of the students, one of whom was just 15-year-old, while spraying tear gas in their faces from short range.
The officer commanding the unit that made the arrest said in response to the allegations that the guards entered the yeshiva classroom after the students hurled rocks at them.
"A confrontation developed between the guards and the students," the officer said. "One of the students was arrested. Tear gas was used. One of the youth tried to get away with the help of his friends. The officer on the premises calmed the situation."
The settlers blamed their Palestinian neighbors for starting the fire.
